You have been together for a while now- and you want to let your partner know you care about them with a special gift! No matter if you are celebrating one year, or twenty one, jewelry will always make your partner feel loved and appreciated.

Anniversary jewelry can serve as an upgrade to an existing engagement or wedding band, or as a stand alone gift to symbolize the years you have shared and those to come!

The hard part? Picking it out! With so many options, diamonds or gemstones, which finish to pick- this buying process can get overwhelming fast. At Jackson Square we are here to help! We have compiled a list of three things to consider when picking out an anniversary gift for a loved one!

1. How Will it Be Styled?

How will your partner be wearing this piece? Make sure to talk with them about whether or not they want this to be a stand alone piece or stacked with their wedding band. Also don’t forget to ask for their ring size- that will be very important! These pieces of info will help to determine the width of the band and the general shape of of the ring.

2. Coordinate Colors

Will the anniversary ring be worn with an engagement and/or wedding band? If so, you want to make sure it coordinates with the other band. The anniversary band can be a different metal as the wedding band, you can add gemstones to the band, but you want to make sure it coordinates with their wedding band and any other jewelry they may wear on a daily basis. If the anniversary ring is more of a standalone piece for your partner- have fun with metal finish or stone. Use your partners current jewelry collection to gauge what finish to choose to fit their personal style!

3. Traditional & Timeless

Did you know the traditional “stone” for a third anniversary is pearl? Blue Sapphire for five? Amethyst for six years together? You can always see if your anniversary year coincides with a specific metal or gemstone. Sometimes it’s great to follow tradition- but of course, keep your spouse’s style in mind as you search for that perfect traditional ring.
